Holland Road rezone deferred
The contested Holland Road proffer-amendment rezone was pushed to January 20 at the applicant's request, frustrating Council Member Johnson who said last-minute deferrals aren't fair to residents who show up.
Table of uses and definitions overhaul
Commissioners recommended a batch of zoning code clean-ups (8-0) and got a preview of a much bigger modernization: 19 new definitions and roughly 107 revised ones, grouped into future staff reports.
UDO housekeeping amendments
A big batch of small zoning-code cleanups is coming — resubmittal deadlines, parking standards, taller farm and corner-lot fences, dog kennel rules, and infill setback relief. It goes to public hearing in September.
Minor subdivision infill standards
Council Member Butler Barlow wants tighter rules — minimum road frontage for every lot, no flag lots — to stop incompatible infill construction she says is 'ruining the look and feel' of older neighborhoods like Oakland and Chuckatuck. The Planning Commission will review the code changes.
Church moving into former film studio
A church that's been renting Kings Fork High School for five years wants to turn the old New Dominion film studio into its permanent home. The rezoning and use permit head to City Council June 17 — commissioners heard only support.
